Kevin Heard Sensei has been studying at the Sennin Foundation Center since 1984. He is the longest practicing student at our dojo.
Mr. Heard has obtained So-Shihan teaching licenses in Shin-shin-toitsu-do, a form of Japanese yoga, as well as healing arts based on yuki, or "transference of ki." This is the highest level of instructor certification possible, and in 2014, he was given Kyoju certification by the International Japanese Yoga Association. This is the top IJYA instructor certificate, and he is one of few people in Japan or the West to have reached this level.
Heard Sensei also holds the advanced rank of menkyo chudan in Saigo Ryu martial arts, and he received a sixth-degree black belt from the Shudokan Martial Arts Association. He serves on the SMAA Board of Advisors. He's demonstrated martial arts in Tokyo several times.
