Healing Arts

In Asia living things are thought to be manifestations of a universal life force called ki. The existence of plants, animals, and people is maintained by, and composed of, ki. When ki is strong and flowing freely, health is maintained. But when it weakens, illness and depression result. Special healing methods can then be used to stimulate ki, or “life energy.”

HEALING ARTS AT THE SENNIN FOUNDATION CENTER

Sennin Ryoji, the “Sennin Foundation Healing Methods,” strengthen ki to overcome tension, illness, and injury. Massage-like techniques are coupled with procedures for transferring ki from therapist to patient using gentle pressure from the thumbs, fingertips, and palms. These methods can be used for self-healing and treating others. Transmitting ki from the fingertips and palms is called yuki, “transfusion of ki,” and it's comparable to jump-starting a car’s depleted battery. Using yuki, you can direct ki to a weakened body part to “jump-start” ki in that area. This helps the body’s natural self-healing properties to work more effectively, which results in a rapid return to health.

No massage oils or tables are needed. Treatment takes place through clothing or via direct skin contact. No advanced knowledge of anatomy is needed. No complex Asian or Western medical theories are utilized. Rather, yuki is based on natural, simple reactions to discomfort or injury.

If we hit our body against something, we touch the injured spot as a reflexive action. People worldwide exhibit this reaction, and that reflex transmits ki to a weakened area. Since yuki stems from this natural response, its principles are easily understood. Anyone can learn to use it.

A DYNAMIC TEACHER & HEALER

H. E. Davey Sensei began studying this healing art under experienced Japanese teachers while in middle school. He's since taught many people to regain their health and to help others to do the same. He outlined these healing methods in his groundbreaking book Japanese Yoga: The Way of Dynamic Meditation. Readers throughout the world have contacted the Sennin Foundation to express their happiness with the benefits they’ve received from these techniques.

The methods he teaches stem from:

  • The self-massage and healing arts of the original Shin-shin-toitsu-do of Nakamura Tempu Sensei
  • Newer versions of Shin-shin-toitsu-do created by some of Nakamura Sensei’s students
  • The yuki healing of Noguchi Haruchika Sensei

He's trained under direct disciples of these remarkable healers, both in Japan and the USA. The International Japanese Yoga Association in Kyoto gave him their highest teaching certification in Japanese yoga and its healing arts.

MAKE A POSITIVE & LIFE-ALTERING DECISION

By studying mind-body coordination and Shin-shin-toitsu-do meditation, you can learn to transfer ki to weakened body parts to boost healing. Many students at the Sennin Foundation have benefited from this unique art, which is rarely taught in the West. Our Shin-shin-toitsu-do classes for beginners take place on Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday from 8:45 to 9:45 AM. The application of Shin-shin-toitsu-do to healing is taught every Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. These are small, semi-private classes, and private lessons are also available. Membership fees for Shin-shin-toitsu-do and related healing arts range from $84 to $105 per month (with unlimited classes). Call 510-526-7518 today to make an appointment to visit and learn more about the Sennin Foundation Center's techniques of health improvement.
